forex session times
Regarding the Forex market hours?
Everyone talks about how the Forex market is open 24 hours, but then what are these "sessions" about? For example, New York "session" is only open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Does that mean that you can enter / exit a Trade with a pair of currencies involving the USD during those hours? What I mean is can you buy or sell the EUR / USD or USD / EUR per hour none during the day or only when the New York and London sessions open at once?
The sessions have to do with the time when markets are particularly active. New York session covers typical workday on the East Coast. That's when economic figures are released, the trading desks are fully staffed and the real decision makers are at work. It is the period of high volume, after which, normally, there is less activity. But you can trade around the clock.
